A Five-Course Spanish Degustation - La Gran Mesa
Eat Spain, Drink Spain @ Annata joins in collaboration with the first-ever Australian edition of a nationwide celebration of Spanish food and wine run by the Economic and Trade Commission of Spain.
Join us for a celebration of tantalising Spanish cuisine and wine as we learn about and taste the great renaissance of Spanish varietals, viticulture and traditional winemaking techniques. Our Spanish wine expert host, Tom Robertson from Movida, will share stories of Spain's produce-led, wine-loving and partying culture as we embrace the Spanish way of life for an unforgettable Annata dining experience.
Chef Jordon Garcia’s five-course menu will commence with Pintxos as we enjoy a glass of Gramona ‘Aliances La Cuvée’ Corpinnat; a benchmark sparkling from Penedès.
The La Gran Mesa (degustation) will then unfold with four savoury Spanish dishes; each teamed with two flights of perfectly matched wines: a Galician Albariño from Rías Baixas stands beside a saline Txakoli from the Basque Country; Valdeorras Godello meets a Verdejo from Central Spain's high plains; the elevated, cool-climate Garnacha of the Sierra de Gredos compares against a Ribeira Sacra red from Galicia's river gorges; and La Rioja Alta's celebrated Viña Ardanza Reserva closes the reds beside a Monastrell from Murcia. Our Spanish night finishes on a sweet note with a pour of Soto Manrique Pancaliente Albillo Real, also from the Sierra de Gredos.
