 Tasting Notes

The colour is luminous pale straw colour with green highlights. The nose is expressive yet elegant, opening with citrus blossoms, fresh pear, apple and subtle white peach, layered with gentle notes of acacia and almond. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a harmonious balance between ripe orchard fruit and crisp lemon zest. A fine mineral backbone and saline lift provide tension, while a discreet oak influence adds creaminess and a touch of vanilla. The finish is long, dry, and finely etched, leaving impressions of citrus and chalky minerality. Generous palate with a perfect balance and nice length – cellar potential 5 to 10 years” Winery notes

 Winemaker

The winemaker is Sylvain Pabion who joined the estate in 2015, bringing experience from his previous work in the Loire Valley. Pabion has focused on sustainable organic viticultural practices. Grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed before fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and oak barrels. Partial malolactic fermentation preserves freshness, while judicious bâtonnage (lees stirring) adds texture. The wine undergoes careful élevage, with a portion matured in French oak barrels to lend subtle structure without overpowering the fruit.

 The Vineyards

The Château sits on 34 hectares is in Marsannay-la-Côte, the northernmost village of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, France. The château was constructed in 1990 by the Boisseaux family. Designed in a traditional style, the estate features modern winemaking facilities and vaulted cellars capable of holding 500 wine barrels. In 2012, the property was acquired by Olivier Halley. “Chardonnay in Marsannay is rarity and this village wine is a blend of five plots with a mixture of soils including premaux limestone and brown limestone.
