The Spanish Wine Renaissance Dinner

Wednesday 27th & Thursday 28th August 2025 | 7:00pm

$220 per person

Hosted by Tom Robertson | Menu by Executive Chef Jordon Garcia

Spain’s wine landscape has undergone a thrilling transformation in the past few decades; a renaissance that has seen it evolve from a land of tradition-bound wines to one of the most dynamic and diverse winemaking nations in the world. This August, Annata invites you to experience that remarkable evolution through ten extraordinary wines that define the new era of Spanish viticulture.

Join us on Wednesday 27th or Thursday 28th August for a celebratory dinner that brings together cutting-edge producers, ancient terroirs, and indigenous varieties; all expertly paired with a menu crafted by Executive Chef Jordon Garcia, whose dishes capture the layered richness and regional character of Spain's diverse culinary traditions.

Guiding us through the evening is Tom Robertson, an experienced sommelier whose depth of knowledge and approachable style make him a favourite among seasoned collectors and curious newcomers alike. Tom will share the stories behind each wine; its place, its people, its purpose; shining a light on the artisans leading Spain’s wine revolution.

You’ll begin with the refined elegance of Gramona La Cuvee Corpinnat from Penedès—a sparkling wine that rivals Champagne for its finesse—before travelling to the volcanic soils of Lanzarote with Puro Rofe Blanco. From Jerez, the Muchada Leclapart Univers Palomino offers a soulful, biodynamic expression of a region best known for fortified wines.

You’ll explore the saline precision of Nanclares Albarino from Rías Baixas, and the expressive, mineral-driven Louro Godello by Rafael Palacios in Valdeorras. Into red territory, discover the aromatic, high-altitude Mencía from Envínate Lousas in Ribeira Sacra, and the wild mountain Garnacha of Comando G from the Sierra de Gredos.

From the warmer southeast, Casa Castillo’s Las Gravas Monastrell from Jumilla offers power and elegance in equal measure, while the evening continues with the timeless Rioja beauty of the 2016 La Rioja Alta Arana Gran Reserva. And to finish you will enjoy the haunting richness of El Maestro Sierra Pedro Ximénez, a Jerez classic of unctuous depth and poetic sweetness.

Each of these wines tells a story of rediscovery; of forgotten grapes, neglected terroirs, and visionary winemakers embracing sustainability, minimal intervention, and authentic expression.

This dinner is more than a tasting; it’s a journey through the soul of modern Spain, seen through the lens of a wine culture being lovingly reimagined. Whether you're a long-time Spanish wine lover or a newcomer ready to explore, The Spanish Wine Renaissance Dinner promises to be a night of insight, indulgence, and inspiration.
