Tasting Notes

The nose opens with crisp aromas of green apple, citrus zest, and delicate floral notes of white flowers. Subtle hints of almond, toasted bread, and light butter are due to the wine’s time on lees. The palate is fresh and vibrant with good  acidity and richness. Lemon, green pear, and white peach dominate, with minerality that gives the wine a clean, focused character. There is slight creaminess from the lees aging.  The finish is long and elegant, with a citrusy zest and a touch of wet stone minerality, leaving a refreshing aftertaste.

Winemaker

The winemaker is Sylvain Pabion who joined the estate in 2015, bringing experience from his previous work in the Loire Valley. Pabion has focused on sustainable viticultural practices, including organic farming across their 40 hectares of vineyards. Techniques such as pruning that respects sap flow and organic enrichment to stimulate soil microbial life are employed to improve vineyard health and wine quality.

 The Vineyards

The Château is in Marsannay-la-Côte, the northernmost village of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, France. The estate spans approximately 34 hectares, with 26 hectares dedicated to the Marsannay appellation and the remaining vineyards situated in prestigious areas such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, and Clos de Vougeot. The château was constructed in 1990 by the Boisseaux family. Designed in a traditional style, the estate features modern winemaking facilities, vaulted cellars capable of holding 500 wine barrels, and a reception hall accommodating up to 350 guests. In 2012, the property was acquired by Olivier Halley.
