Annata invites you to an exceptional five-course dining experience exploring the diverse wine regions of South Australia as we taste the influence of terroir. The event will be held over two evenings on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th May 2026.
Your night begins with the sparkling elegance of Deviation Road Vintage Brut from the Adelaide Hills, served with a welcome snack. This is followed by our first course pairings of the legendary Jim Barry “Florita” Riesling 2018 Cellar Release and a rare 2010 vintage Riesling from Forbes & Forbes in the Eden Valley.
The following course showcases the cool climate precision of Ashton Hills Chardonnay from the Adelaide Hills; an estate renowned for producing Chardonnay of Burgundian sophistication and restraint. To demonstrate terroir climate contrast, we will pair our chardonnay with the beautifully textured Torbreck Marsanne from one of Australia’s most iconic producers. This Rhône-inspired wine thrives in the warmth and generosity of the Barossa Valley terroir.
Few figures have influenced modern Australian fine wine more profoundly than Brian Croser (AO). The second course will feature his Tapanappa Pinot Noir from Fleurieu Peninsula paired against a Grenache crafted by another Australian legend; Roman Bratasiuk of Clarendon Hills. His Blewitt Springs vineyards in McLaren Vale produce grenache with extraordinary concentration, perfume and old vine intensity from one of Australia’s best maritime terroirs.
The main course showcases the magnificent 2018 Kaesler Alte Reben Shiraz from the Barossa Valley; sourced from treasured old vines planted in the nineteenth century. This benchmark wine will be paired with the iconic Wynns John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon from the famed terra rossa soils of Coonawarra. This is one of Australia’s most revered and collectible Cabernet wines. Our evening concludes with a beautifully balanced Botrytis Viognier from the terroir of Wrattonbully.
Executive Chef Jordon Garcia has curated a five-course dégustation menu designed to complement the stature, elegance and regional identity of these remarkable wines. This promises to be one of Annata’s most prestigious wine events of the year; a celebration of the producers, vineyards and winemakers that define the remarkable diversity of South Australian terroir.
